May 29, 2013…Red Witch have caught Blues for the last five days! High Trollin 1/1White and 0/2 on Blues.  Reliance 1/2 on Blues 0/1 whites and a sailfish.  Great Escape 1/3 on Blues, 0/1 Whites. Teddy Bear 1 Blue.  Everyone with loads of Mahi!!!

 

May 26…High Toller 2 whites and a blue, Cookie two for five on blues, Lots of flags are flying at the marina!………there out here basking in the sun!!!  Mahi still to be had……..plenty of fish fingers being fried at the docks.   Pic is of Zach’s Big blue off of American Beauty!

May 22…Columbus Point is ALIVE, with birds & tuna.  Billfish are here.  Average of one/two a day per each boat.  Plenty more bites.

Mako, Shearwater, Red Witch, Oil Slick, Great Escape, Judith Ann, Any Minute and more bringing in loads of Mahi and tunas.  Few Wahoo here and there.  Wind is picking up more boats starting to sit at the dock and wait it out.  Blue Marlin should turn electric soon.

2013 Hawk’s Nest 13th Annual Billifsh Blast Reports

What do you know? Hawk’s Nest holds another PERFECT tournament!!

Total fish caught: 5blues, 21whites, 2sails.  18Boats

1st place Zues 1350 six whites and a sail.

2nd place Deguello 1200 1 blue and 3 whites.

3rd place Azul 800 1 blue 1 white.

Calcutta’s  Blue Marlin to Full Time, Wahoo 43.3lbs Cow Hunter, Dolphin 37.9lbs So What, Tuna 55.1lbs So What.  Daily: Zuess, Deguello, Azul! Awesome Job Guys……….the love was spread around the board.

OU has been here around a month and landed 18 whites seen a few Blues.  Pole dance with two  Blues and a white.

Hang Em High Challenge & April Fishing

April 18th HELLO  BILLFISH!!! Over Under seeing over 11 billfish in one day, landing three whites and a blue!

 

The fishing is standard for mid April on Cat Island.  How many Mahi do you want to clean in one day?  Ranging from 25-45lbs.  If you can keep the dolphin from munching on your bait, you are sure to get a Whitey or a Blue.  Sharks are playing havoc with the Yellow fin.  Studs have been hooked. Many Flags are flying at the docks!  Good Job to Over Under on their double W Marlin hook up.

2013 HANG EM HIGH TOURNAMENT RESULTS
1ST PLACE FULL TIME WITH 126.2PTS
2ND PLACE TWO CATS WITH 101.9PTS
3RD PLACE REEL LIFE 93.2PTS.
(pts are the cumulative weight of one a tuna, mahi & wahoo: all three fish have to be caught to place)
Calcutta’s
Overall: Full Time, Biggest Fish: Full Time (66lb mahi), Daily’s went to Two Cats Too, Two Cats & Full Time.
Wahoo Calcutta: Reel Life 59.3lb
Mahi Calcutta: Whatever 48.1lb
Tuna Calcutta: Signed Out 12.5lb

Looks like a father and son show down tomorrow. Second Day of Hang Em High:  Two Cats with a 55.2lb Wahoo and a total of 79.5lbs of fish winning the daily.  Also, catching all three pelagic fish in the lead for overall.  2nd overall Two Cats Too. 3rd is The A Team.

First Day of Hang Em High: Two Cats Too with 42.6lb Wahoo and winning the daily with 56.1lbs of fish.  Trigger catching all three pelagic fish leading the overall.  WAITING ON THE DOCKS, LOOKING FOR SOME SIZE TODAY.

 

APRIL: An abundance of Dolphin are being caught everyday.  All different sizes. Biggest in the 40s.  Cow Hunter catching four tunas and 40 plus wahoo’s. Over Under always catching his limit of Mahi and his biggest @ 47.8lbs with two whites.   So What Catching 60plus Wahoo and a white. All species being caught.

March Fishing

March 19…..Pole Dancer a mess of dolphin and Two Blues! Reel Cents three Marlin hits landing a white, Reel Lucky with one blue and one white. Trigger & Argo with more “Hang em High’s” , Cat Tales with a few wahoo, Full Time loading up on Mahi.  FISHING IS GOOD!
March 12…..Everyone that went out caught a “Hawk’s Nest Hang Em High”  Wahoo Tuna & Mahi.  Trigger with 12 Mahi to be exact!!  Deep Droping is outstanding on the otherside of Columbus Point.  Its getting better and better everyday.  Ready for our Spring Tournaments.  Call us NOW to get on the top of our waiting list!!!
Fishing For the past week:  Boy has it picked up.  On a full MOON. Monday…Argo caught three wahoo biggest at 56.2lbs, lost two to sharks, four footballs & four mahi. Full time got eight Mahi one largest being 51.6lbs and three wahoo in the 30s, two yellow fin: biggest being 35.6lbs.  Friday… Argo headed out and landed nine tuna at Tartar Banks.  Lost a big Yellow Fin at the boat.  Full Time h…ad four wahoo one they shared with a white tip, also filling the box with a mix of mahi and tuna. Saturday!! Full Time Leading the Fish Board!! Brought in a 97lb Wahoo.  Good Job Guys!!! Pictures to come.  Looks like lots of “Hang Em High’s” being caught.  The wahoo here are Monsters…….challenge yourself to come bring em in @ Hawk’s Nest!!

February Fishing

Feb 7th…..Cow Hunter bringing in a few catches along with Two Cats Too @ 68lbs,  Argo took Cowboy out to play and came back with plenty of snapper for dinner.   Many boats sitting empty at the Marina, waiting for everyone to fly back in to search for the 100lber!!

2013 Wahoo Fishing

The most gorgeous day for fishing.  No wind, silky smooth waters.  Brought in some BIG wahoo.

Two Cats Too topping the charts with a 76.4 plus a bonus 61.1.  Predator with their biggest @ 66.2lbs.  The hoo’s are starting to climb the charts!!! Finally, looks like a  later bite this year.  Should go into late February.  Whew………just in time for our LARGEST  Wahoo Championship!!!! See you at the docks.

Oh and couldn’t miss divemaster Charles taking his day off to head to the conch farm.  Yum fresh conch salad.

It was the most spectacular winter day in CAT ISLAND.
